Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening performed at our Daytona Beach, FL dental practice is not the same as that performed on your own at home.  Instead of running the risk of bleaching agents moving to your gums, tongue, cheeks or another area, let the Kohli Dental team do the whitening for you.  Professional teeth whitening prevents injury to the gums, ensuring the whitening agent is strictly applied to the fronts of teeth shown when the lips separate.  The teeth whitening process typically takes an hour or less.

Professional teeth whitening begins with an analysis of the tooth shade.  The dentist polishes the teeth using pumice.  Pumice is a grainy material that eliminates plaque along the surface of teeth.  Gauze is used to isolate the mouth, ensuring the teeth remain dry.  Retractors are put in place to ensure the tongue, lips and cheeks are not contacted by the whitening agent.  The whitening agent is added to the fronts of the teeth.  The dentist then uses a laser/light to trigger the peroxide, whitening the teeth to your preferred shade.
