Dentures
There is a common misconception that all dentures are the same. Meet with our dentist, Dr. Sutinder S. Kohli, for an oral health examination and we will determine if you are a candidate for dentures. Partial dentures, full dentures, removable dentures and implant-supported dentures are available at our Daytona Beach dental practice. The denture placement process requires tooth extraction. The dentist might also recommend that you are provided with temporary dentures in the period of time between extraction and the creation of permanent dentures. Each patient’s dentures are made for his or her specific mouth, meaning precise measurements are taken to ensure the optimal fit.
The initial step is to analyze the teeth to gauge oral health (or lack thereof), identify tooth decay, infection or even previous dental restorations that might make the addition of dentures challenging. The dentures are made in a dental lab, then fit so they function similar to regular teeth. If there is slight discomfort, let the dentist know and the appropriate adjustments will be made.
Be patient with your new dentures as they will require some time to feel similar to regular teeth. You’ll find speaking and eating with dentures is significantly easier and more comfortable within a week’s time or less.
